I recently had radiesse and I can tell that the doctor placed the product too low in my cheekbones, which created a "bulldog" effect, with jowling and everything migrating southward. How long does the carrier material take to dissolve, and at that point will my face look somewhat like it did before? I will need to go in as soon this dissolves and try a different filler. How long will I have to wait?
It sounds like you feel like your injection was placed in a location that did not achieve the desired effect. You need to see your injecting doctor to discuss this matter. There may be ways to correct this. Unlike the hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse is not able to be dissolved with hyaluronidase. However, deep massage may be able to disperse the material if done early enough. Otherwise, this product will usually last a year or so but does stimulate collagen growth that lasts years. Your best best is to see your doctor or a local expert in fillers and discuss your options ASAP. Good luck
I had 1.5cc's of radiesse injected under each eye 50 hrs ago. Instead of getting a dental block, I opted for the lidocaine to be mixed in with the filler. I am not sure if the doctor has ever done filler this way and I'm suspicious that he added too much lidocaine to the filler and as a result, cause the swelling/stretching. He said that the swelling was due to the sheer volume of the lidocaine and the shot was 70% lidocaine. How long will lidocaine take to fully dissolve?
From your images this is not what I would expect as a normal side effect of the Raidesse injections. I would go in to see your injecting physician.
What is the difference between having Radiesse vs Restylane filler for nasolabial folds? Which is better? I've had it done with Juvederm but have read that the other two are longer lasting.
The truth is that much of what is being quoted is accurate but some of the "facts" are based on very poor studies that would not stand up under scrutiny by a reasonably eductaed physician reviewing the studies or a statistician. However, when it comes to fillers, experience is everything. True all of these products will last 6 months. these studies were very well done and are excellent for all of us to quote. But Restylane was just shown to last 18 months in 95% of patients and now is part of their labelling. So what do you use? Many of the comments made are valid but some need closer scrutiny. For example, permanent fillers in the nasolabial folds? What happens 10 years from now when the beads are shifted off the fold because of bony resorption and fat atrophy and gravity? where are the lumps now ? What about granuloma formation and abscesses? Be careful of what and were you inject becuse I have seen Restylane, 5 years after being injected, still evident in the skin. Although, this was because it was injected too superficially. So the main point is see someone experienced, see their pictures before and after patients, and let them choose what is best for you in the area you want treated. If they do their work well your results should be great and last a long time!
