I started Invisalign almost 3 weeks ago. I am also using Acceledent, which allows you to change trays every week, instead of every 2 weeks, so I am on my third tray. So far so good! I contemplated Invisalign treatment for a year or so, and actually had consultations with a total of four orthodontists before finally settling on the one I began treatment with. I had braces as a teenager, and I... more
I started my Invisalign treatment in October 2013. It's been more problematic than I'd expected. Here's what I have found difficult: 1. A few days after starting treatment I had a meeting at a client's office. My new trays were quite sharp, and they cut the inside of my mouth, causing the top tray to fill up with blood. It was very embarrassing. 2. The trays make it difficult to speak, a... more
Had retainers when a teen to actually straighten my teeth. Worked well. Dentist said when done, I didn't need to wear retainer anymore. A few years later, I noticed that bottom teeth especially were becoming crooked again... went to try to put retainer back on and it broke in half. Years later ... age 35 or so, went to a dentist in San Diego who made me another retainer and moved my teeth... more
I was very excited to start the Invisalign process but after reading all the reviews I am now hesitant. I just called my orthodontist and asked questions regarding what will be covered in tomorrows appointment. I mentioned the Clincheck and asked to see the "outcome" of the procedure. The receptionist questioned me and and specifically said, " why are you asking these types of questions?". I... more
Before I decided to get Invisaligns, I had a ton of questions and anxiety, looking everywhere to find a review that would answer all my questions. Hopefully this one does for those of you still thinking. Teeth Condition: crowding on both top and bottom. I was afraid Invisalign would only treat minor teeth problems, but it was able to treat my condition, so definitely go in for a... more
The first 24 hours were fine except they were very hard to get out. This got better over time. But very soon I developed a funny dry cough. I didn't feel like I was getting sick, just had a persistent cough. It grew worse over a couple days and I began to suspect the new clear braces. I realized that I stopped coughing soon after taking them out! I googled "Invisalign Allergic... more
I'm 35 now and 33 when started Invisalign. I had an overbite before and very pushed in upper front teeth, as well as very crooked lower teeth. I have been in Invisalign for over 2 years now and I have found that it has really been a very easy process overall. My smile and teeth look beautiful now and when I look back at old pictures I just cringe at the thought of how they used to look... more
I only have the Invisaline on my top teeth. I'm on my second tray and so far, so good. The only adjustment to them is my eating habits. Which have been a good thing. I didn't realize how often I would eat and drink just because it was there. Now having to deal with my tray and brushing my teeth...I feel like I've been forced to do the Invisaline Diet! In only four months I've lost 8lbs! When... more
