Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your replies. I had the endotine mid face/cheek lift 6 weeks ago. The swelling on my right cheek went down pretty quickly but my left cheek is still very swollen and feels tight. It looks like I have a golf ball on my cheek. Can this happen? is this normal and can anyone recommend anything that will help? I want it gone because the right side looks great.I saw my surgeon at 4 weeks pop and he recommended lymphatic drainage but not seen any change.I'm 32.
Dear Patient,
It could be residual swelling, a resolving hematoma, or the natural effect of the operation. I would highly recommend that you give it some more time. If you still see little to no change, I would advise that you consult your physician.
Are the changes in definition equal across the face with a facelift? Will certain areas be relatively unaffected by the lift?
Dear Patient, There are many different types of facelifts and each of them has a differential effect on the face. For example, a mid facelift will predominantly change the cheeks and nasolabial folds. Where as a lower facelift will improve the jowling and the upper part of the neck. I suggest you consult a certified plastic surgeon who will be able to find which facelift is best suited for you to obtain the desired results.
I had a face neck lift, now 10 weeks post op, little swelling & bruising after op, feel good & had a great surgeon but have some edema in jowls, surgeon says it will settle down, had 1 session of MLD with other sessions booked, how long before the oedema goes, I drink 4 litres of water every day, eat healthy, no salt & have 2 cups of fennel tea daily Hope someone can re assure me Thank you
Dear Patient, Generally speaking, 10 weeks following a face and neck lift surgery, the swelling should have decreased. However, I suggest you consult your plastic surgeon and follow his instructions.
