Can One Use Restylane to Top off an Area Where Bioalcamid Was Put?

Hi I had some bioalcamid many years ago to accentuate my jaw angles. After about 7 years or so most of the material was removed from one side, due to infection. Is it possible to replace the lost volume with restylane/ restylane sub q? Have a great week :-)

A: Restylane to top off BioAlcamid

Hi Gina,

If the BioAlcamid has been removed there shouldn't be any problems in using a hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane in the same area. Because BioAlcamid forms a capsule around itself and works as an "endoprosthesis" it has the potential of getting infected (like any implant in the body) if contaminated. Hope this helps.

Can You Reverse Restylane in Lips? My Results Are Uneven.

I just got injection for first time and is uneven in my upper lip please someone answer me I'm freaking out!!!

A: restylane to lips.

If you just had it done it may be due to swelling.  Give it a few weeks before any further treatment.  If after a few weeks the lips still appear uneven then see your physician who  can add more product to even things out or add hyaluronidase to dissolve product that may appear excessive in  a given area.  Good Luck.

I'm Going to Get Restylane to Fill in Lines Around my Mouth. What Should I Expect?

I'm quite excited about it as I'm unhappy with this area. Will I be able to go to work the next day?

A: Restylane around the mouth

Restylane has gained widespread acceptance as a reliable and safe product used in many countries over the past decade..  It  is composed of hyaluronic acid a smooth gel which contains no animal products.  It comes in three forms, restylane,  restylane fine line which is thinner consistency,  and perlane which is thicker.  For areas around the mouth these products can augment facial folds significantly.   This procedure takes minutes to do and generally is well tolerated.  Most patients have slight swelling and rarely bruising along the injections site.  For most patients they can go to work the same day and cover up any sign of the treatment with makeup.  The results can be dramatic and should look natural.   In some situations its important to treat not just the folds but to enhance volume of the cheeks and areas above the mouth and the chin area below the mouth.
