How Long Does Perlane Last in Nasolabial Folds?

I was on a cruise.I had perlane-L 1 ml syringe per each side for nasal folds. I was told it would last 2-3 years and 9-12 months for the dysport in my forehead. This seems to differ from information I'm reading on the net. I paid 1600 + 400 for the 2 treatments. The doctor told me she had specific training in the perlane injections and did them in such a way they would last much longer. I'm very happy with the result so far 2 weeks post. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks

A: Perlane typically lasts 6-9 months in nasolabial folds

Perlane typically lasts 6-9 months in nasolabial folds, and duration is usually longer if more material is injected.

How Can I Safely Remove Perlane?

Hi, I had Perlane injected in my cheeks where previosly i had sub q. The results are terrible, i have huge rounded cheeks when i smile. Also i have developed two round lumps lower down on my cheek, i think this may be the sub q that was pushed down I am worried about having it dissolved as i have read on several reveiw forums that this can result in natural tissue dissolving. However I am at the stage of not leaving the house and was wonderng if there is any other way of removing the Perlane.

A: Hyaluronic Acid fillers can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase

It is possible that the SubQ, which is a very thick and concentrated hyaluronic acid (HA) filler is causing so much fullness in the cheeks that the Perlane is being displaced, both upwards and laterally.  The best way to deal with too much HA filler is to dissolve some of this away. Hyaluronidase is a natural enzyme that dissolves HA in the skin. It works almost instantly and the results would likely be excellent in your situation.  This can be injected very quickly and easily into the involved areas by a Dermatologist with experience in using this specialized product. Occasionally, more than one treatment may be required.  I would advise you to call around and find an experienced Cosmetic Dermatologist in your area who uses Hyaluronidase.

Perlane Vs Juvederm

Is Juvederm or Perlane is better for nasolabial folds? How long does each product last when used for naso labial folds (manufacturer ratings)?

A: Juvederm vs. Perlane for nasolabial folds

Both Juvederm and Perlane are safe and effective hyaluronic acid fillers for the nasolabial folds. Perlane may be slightly better for deeper lines as it is thicker (has higher G prime), while Juvederm might be nice for softer, less deep lines. Both last 6-12 months in the nasolabial folds; each person breaks the filler down at different rates. If there are problems (uncommon), then both can be simply dissolved with hyaluronidase (an antidote).
