Always had great results with Botox but went with Dysport last time and results were horrible. Made my eyes smaller, brow lower and lids super puffy. It's worn off now but my lids have become so hooded that they stick together, I raise my brow to see better and I always look mad (due to being 45, not result of Dysport). Do I go with Botox/Dysport again or get upper and lower lid surgery? Or given how my lower lids look, would fillers work instead? Thanks!
Thank you for the question and the photos. It appears that you may benefit from an upper blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to reduce the hooding.
You can still use Botox or Dysport for the Crow's feet and forehead area.
Hope that helped. Good luck!
I suffer from lower lid retraction due to a blepharoplasty; and most problematic is my painful and severe dry eye due to MGD. Are the muscles that are intermingled with the fatty tissue directly in contact with the meibomian glands, thus imperative to their function? Best Regard, Brad
This problem can occur from blepharoplasty. In some situations it is tempary and resolves as surgical swelling settles. In situations where this fails to resolve, revision surgery can be performed where the eyelid is repositioned.
Can you perform Blepharoplasty for hollow lower eyelids to pull the skin upward?
Hollow eyes can be augmented with fat grafting and fillers such as restylane. In certain cases patients can benefit from conservative blepharoplasty with fat preservation and or repositioning. Selphyl which involves injecting platelet rich plasma is also helpful in treating hollow eyes.
