Evolence Vs. Juvederm: Which is Better?

Is Evolence The Dermal filler really made from PIGS? I am a bit uncomfortable with the idea of pig remains in my face and lips. Are there problems unique to this product that don't exist with other fillers? What is the advantage over Juvederm? A doctor in my area, Raleigh, NC offers Evolence injections for a lot less than I'm paying another office for Juvederm. I like the lower price but I'm a little nervous.

A: Evolence versus Hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm

Evolence is made from porcine collagen (pigs) and is widely used and used for several years now. I use evolence and the other fillers extensively and I have had a good experience with it. It tends to last longer than Juvederm and Restylane, on average around 1 year. It tends to hurt a bit more, so good anesthesia (ice, local anesthetic etc) is important. One problem with evolence is that there is no way to dissolve it (other than time), if you're not happy with it; hyaluronidase would not work on it as it would on juvederm or restylane.

Is Evolence Breeze the Most Suitable Long-lasting Lip Filler on the Market?

My Physician indicated that collagen-based fillers are longer lasting than Hyaluronic acid fillers. My understanding is that Evolence Breeze is a porcine collagen filler that lasts longer than hyaluronic acid fillers (is this true?).

Also, is Evolence Breeze the most suitable lip filler currently on the market in terms of its longevity and relatively low health risks to the consumer?

Thanks!

Sincerely, Lisa (British Columbia, Canada)

A: evolence breeze, Evolence, Restylane, soft tissue fillers, injectibles

Dear Lisa. Thank you for your question. Both Evolence and Evolence Breeze are supposed to last for 1 year. They have a very good safety profile with very low reaction rates. The advantage over other fillers is that they have much leass bruising and swelling. They are more uncomfortable to have injected but the discomfort goes immediately.

Both filler give excellent results - and some Plastic Surgeons may prefer them over the Hyaluronic Acids such as Restylane etc. I use different fillers depending on the patient's request and areas for injection. i may use Evolence in some people and not in others- to acheive the best results .

Is Evolence Recommended for Filling Under Eye Hollows?

I heard that Evolence lasts longer, but it can cause lumps that can not be dissolved like HA fillers can. If this filler is not recommended, what would be a good filler to use to fill under eye hollows?

A: Under Eye Hollows and Non Surgical Eye Lift

Dear Tina5

My wife, Dr. Lisa Airan and i wrote the first paper on the Non-Surgical Eye Lift in 2005. We describe the technique using Restylane and Perlane. We have treated thousands of patients with very few problems. We have been using Restylane in this area for over 7 years now and are very confident with the results- they last 8 months up to a year and a half. The results are very reproducaible and give a natural appearance. i have seen some cases where another product has been used and the product can not be removed..... and in this case if you have a long term problem you are stuck with it. Restylane and Perlane can be removed with an injected enzyme if need be.

These injections ( in the eye area) are off label - not FDA approved.
