I Wanted Upper Pole Fullness, Why Didn't 960cc Get Me This?

44DD Pre-op and Had a Lift and Aug with Saline 960cc Mod Plus Implants Now I'm a 44DDD. im 34 5'6 and 200lbs, with 2 kids. i wanted to go to a full size F with upper pole fullness and the high fake look, with the round look at the top of my breast. i look saggy and small with no upper fullness and my breast have no roundness up top. i want to go ALOT bigger in the future but i'm wondering what happened and why did my breast turn out like this??? Please help!!

A: No upper pole fullness - gravity and stretching of your tissue is the issue!

What you needed was some advice and insistence that the decision to use such larger implants was a bad idea. Unfortunately, you and your surgeon made a decision together that used flawed logic. Like many other things in life, you can not always have what you want.

Plastic Surgeons have a responsibility to educate you about the consequences of excessively large implants and tell you to not have surgery like this. However, you have a responsibility to listen to the advice and to be realisitic. How will larger implants not result in more gravitational changes and stretching of your tissues?

Which Procedure is Best for Saggy Breasts For a 22 Year Old? (photo)

I'm 22 years old and my breast sag and lay nearly flat on my chest. Bending to the front makes them look like cow utters and laying back they look deflated. I'm a 34C and I don't want to be bigger. I also heard that lifts take a long time to heal and can come undone. So my question is what is the best approach to take?

A: A breast lift should be discussed with your Plastic Surgeon

Your goal of not wanting to be bigger is important and I am glad for this. You have tissue that has stretched at a young age so adding size and weight with a breast implant at the time of a breast lift is not advisable. You have enough breast tissue to look proportional ( as you already know when wearing a bra) but your shape is not optimal. A breast lift can create a more perky look, reduce the diameter of your areola and position the nipple and areala more in the middle of your breast.

As a young woman it is important to discuss the implications of a breast lift for you. This surgery does leave permanent scars, will require some maintenance surgery down the road, may affect your ability to breast feed in the future and may permanently change your breast sensitivity. With an open discussion about your goals and expectations, you and your Plastic Surgeon should be able to decide if a breast lift is right for you

Hoping Lipo in Abs/waist Will Increase Fat Stores in Butt. True?

I understand lipo will permanently remove fat in that area. If weight gain occurs, other fat storage areas will be used to store the 'new' fat. I store all my fat centrally on my abs/waist, which is unusual for a woman. If I have lipo in that area, will any excess fat be distributed in other areas such as my butt/breast/legs/arms, etc? This would be welcomed as I have an 'apple' body shape and as a woman I would prefer a more 'female' shape with larger rear and breast.

A: Hoping your fat stores will go elsewhere will not work.

Liposuction permanently removes a percentage of the fat cells in the areas that are treated. Consequently, if you maintain a healthy lifestyle that minimizes the storage of new fat the contour and proportional improvements achieved liposuction are long lasting. Liposuction does not change your biology. If before surgery your hips and belly were the main locations for fat to accumulate then this will still be the pattern after surgery.

Procedures that do not destroy fat cells similarly can not change the distribution pattern of fat storage on your body. An interesting observation is that in some patients the fat around the waistline can be very hormonally active. Although this is not predictable, reducing the superficial belly fat may allow other hormonally influenced body areas to change. Many female patients who have had liposuction to their torso and thighs notice a slight increase in fullness to their breasts after surgery. It is theorized that a subtle change in the balance of hormones occurs when a large resevoir of hormonally active fat cells are removed. Anecdotal reports of borderline diabetics achieving better blood sugar control after abdominal liposuction also exist.

All the best
