About 7 months ago I had several IPL treatments done on my face, chest and hands. Great results. Went back fore several more. Then I asked the laser tech to zap the freckles on my back and lower legs. 1 Hour after I left his office I was on fire, blistered and had these HUGE dark squares all over my back, 60 of them, the same on the lower legs. It was winter so no one could see. I now sit with all these white uneven squares. He said a chemical peel will help to even out the skin color. Help.
Sounds like the burns (blisters) were more than superficial 2nd degree burns. Any burn that blisters is a 2nd degree burn but it can be a superficial 2nd degree burn and heal uneventfully. But it can be a deeper 2nd degree burn and destroy the melanocyes moreso. This will result in loss of pigmentation of the skin later on. This can be permament. I would wait several months for several skin growth cycles to take place then evaluate. Trying to reduce the normal pigment surrounding the white areas with lasers or chemical peels may help to blend. I don't know if you can do anything to repigment the white areas.
I had one IPL treatment a couple days ago to treat undereye dark circles, procedure took 30 seconds. Now I am finding a bunch of reviews over the internet that say it can cause fat lose several weeks after treatment! Now Im worried because I already receive restylane injections under my eyes! Please answer!
IPL does not come anywhere near the fat layers and will not injure the fat. Your internet reviews are made by ill informed people apparently. IPL does not even pass through all the layers of the skin and the fat is definately below the skin.
I had a doctor do IPL on some facial veins a few months ago, which left me with a blotchy and scratchy skin texture. I have some inflamed whiteheads and milia as well. I recently saw a dermatologist and he gave me differin to help my skin texture, but it aggravated things. How do I go about treating such a condition? Are there any meds I should use to repair the damaged skin tissues? I also have some broken capillaries & cracks under my skin from the laser - any way to fix this without laser?
IPL is a superficial level skin treatment and does not go very deep into the skin. It treats the epidermis and upper dermis and would likely not cause you these problems. Maybe this condition existed in a undeveloped state before and is responsible for the face veins that then lead you to get treatment. Could you be getting some progression of something like rosacea? I think you should get a dermatologist to have a fresh look at you. I think the IPL is a red herring.
