Should I be taking any precautions in cleaning/caring for it so that it will last longer? Can I go to any orthodontist to order more or must I return to the original? Since no mention was made of Vivera or a subscription of more than one set, (my doctor simply said that they would order them from Invisilign and the cost was included in the price of my treatment), I'm wondering what happens when this set has worn out.
Invisalign retainers by Vivera are supplied to you every three months for 2 years for a fee. Often times, patients are not told by their dentist thhey will be in retainers for the rest of their life after their invisalign procedure. It is a neccessary to keep the teeth in place so they do not move back to where they were before you started invisalign! My suggestion is, if you are having a hard time affording the expense of the vivera retainers, go with a conventional acrylic retainer that will last at least 5 years or more. It may not be as comfortable as the invisalign retainers, but make sure you wear the retainer! Your teeth will not stay in place and will naturally move back if you do not use some form of retention for the rest of your life.
I have a preferred dentist, but the Groupon is such a good deal. I don't know if this is a gimmick or not, or if there's a way for the dentist to provide less comprehensive Invisalign service.
We have used Groupon and Living Social and it has worked out well for our patients as well as our practice. It is really not so much about the offer as bringing in a potential new patient from that offer who becomes part of our dental practice. That is what benefits the dentist in the long run. I think Groupon is pretty straight forward and the contract the dentist signs is pretty explicit. Make sure you read the offer thoroughly and the limitatiions and qualifications. The deals can be very good so do not run the other way just because it is a Groupon deal. It usually makes both the dentist and the new patient very happy!
I've been in need of braces since I was young but never had the money for it. I'm five months pregnant. Will being pregnant not let me get them?
Medical will not cover invisalign unless you can prove that it is a medical necessity which would be very hard to do.Their rules as to coverage are very hard and fast and they view invisalign as cosmetic rather than a necessity for your health and well being. As to having invisalign during your pregnancy, there seems to be no evidence that there would be a medical problem for you or your baby. It may not be the most convenient time for you to do the procedure since it requires a commitment of wearing them pretty much all of the time. Also there will be a few trips to get new aligners from your dentist, and depending how far away he is and how uncomfortable you are at the end of your pregnancy, you might want to wait until after your baby is born...Hope this helps and congratulations and,. no matter what, DO the invislalign and give yourself a gift of straight teeth and a beautiful smile!
