I had rhinoplasty about 3 weeks ago which involved narrowing the nasal bones as well as removing a small hump. I have a narrow dent like spot on just one side of my nose a little lower than my eye. I am assuming it is the fracture line that is present from where my bone was broken. I was wondering if it is normal for it to dent in slightly after almost a month. As a visual reference, to someone else it would most likely appear like a tiny indented scar.
Marie, I agree with the previous posts, however, if you see the fracture line this early in your recovery, it is unlikely that it will go away completely, as you have more swelling now than you will in 6-12 months. The good news is, dermal fillers can camoflage this quite nicely, if need be. Good luck!
From side view, I don't have a problem with nose, it isn't long and it doesn't have a bump on it but from the front, I have a slightly broad/wide nose and I think if it was slightly smaller it would bring out my other features a lot more. Also when I smile, the tip of my nose spreads out. However, I'm wondering, is it worth it to have rhinoplasty? As I've seen cases where the surgeons have made the nose really narrow and pinched which I don't want at all? I want a very small, subtle change.
It sound as though ou have what is calles an infantile nose because it is wide. Tell your surgeon what you want but, realize the nose must be in proportional balance
Had rhinoplasty 5 months ago to thin my bridge and decrease nasal with. Healing is coming along well, however, when I smile, my nose tilts to the left side. In other words, the left side is longer than the right. What can I do to correct that, or should I just remain patient and it will eventuallly correct itself?
Ask your surgeon for possible causes. He may have deliberately cut muscles at the nasal base to prevent the tip from drooping when smiling. You need to wait for complete healing.
