I am completely opposed to implants, so please dont even try to convince me to get them. I have already made up my mind - NO IMPLANTS... thanks... However, I am still torn on whether its worth the bother to get the lift done? I just want to repostion my nipples. I'm not looking to get any major upper pole or anything like that, and wouldn't even mind if they end up a tad smaller as a result of the lift. I just want to know if its worth the time, money, and not to mention scarring... Thank You!
breast lift, or mastopexy, lifts the breast but also reduces the size of the breast by one cup size. If your breasts are too large prior to a breast lift, and you don't mind going smaller then you might not even need implants. On the other hand, if you don't want your breasts to get smaller with a breast lift then you need to augment the size of your breast with a breast implant. Most women in Los Angeles who seek breast lift have also lost breast volume after child birth or weight loss. thus these women most likely would prefer to also use an implant.
I had my breast augmentation done back in Feb 2011 and at first was very satisfied with the results, but now they are starting to sag and I need a breast lift. Will I have to have the implants removed, have a breast lift performed, and come back at a later date for implants? Or will someone be able to do it all at once? I posted some pictures from right after surgery and then from today.
In Los Angeles most board certified plastic surgeons favor performing breast augmentation and breast lift at the same time. In my personal experience women do well with this procedure since I can adjust the breast implant and breast size along with the shape of the breasts at the same time.
So thanks to everyone's advice and my surgeon's information to my previous question. I've decided to go forward with surgery. My doctor is recommending a small implant to fill out the top of the breast and create a roundness.
The idea of an implant (and having to replace it every 10 years) doesn't thrill me, but I want the best result possible. Do you think it would be worth it as opposed to just a lift?
Placement of breast impalnts under the Pectoralis Muslce does help to enhance the results of a breast lift or mastopexy. In almost all of the breast lift procedures that I perform in Beverly Hills, I do use an implant to improve breast projection and volume. Contrary to the general belief, breast implants do not need to be replaced every ten years. Saline and Silicone implants do only need to be replaced if they deflate. therefore, you need to watch them and have your doctor evaluate them on a yearly basis.
