It has been a full month since the doctor had applied the mask on my face for over 10 hours. I am looking forward to see the optimal results with melasma therefore heading for a second procedure with cosmelan mask. Is it safe to continue with the second procedure after a month? Will my skin become more sensitive under the exposure of sun? Please let me know asap. Thanks
I would continue with the topical treatments at home and schedule another peel within 6 to 8 weeks of your first cosmelan peel.
I want to have cosmelan done on my whole body as i have severe hyperpigmentation from huge amounts of sun exposure. Is this possible? My skin is dark african skin (After the hyperpigmentation)
There are better options for diffuse solar elastosis and sun spots. I would not advise a cosmelan peel for your body. Topical preparations, combined with more effective chemical peels will work better.
I am looking for information regarding melasma and Cosmelan. What are the results like? Thanks!
Melasma is a progressive process that exhibits excessive pigmentation of the facial skin. Hormones play a major factor in the development of melasma in fadult emales, but melasma can occur at all ages and in males and females.
Cosmelan has been introduced as a non-invasive chemical peel with potent ingredients that can temporary lighten hyperpigmentation.
The key to the successful treatment of hyperpigmentation and melasma is to understand its causes and realize that there is no permanent solution. An aggressive acute and longterm protocol must be initiated in order to provide a durable solution. Otherwise, a single pronged treatment with Cosmelan will not provide longterm satisfaction.
