3 weeks after macs lift i have several dimples under my skin what could it be? on both sides. could it be still water or something is not going all right....
At three weeks post facelift, it is still quite early in the healing process and it is not unusual to note skin dimpling or irregularities which, in most cases, will improve or resolve over time. The dimpling could be caused by a small area of bruising, or fuild collection (seroma), or could be associated with a suture in the deeper connective tissues. Let your surgeon know about your concern. Depending on his/her physical exam, they can help give you options for treatment that should resolve the problem. Best of luck.
I know Vitamin E is not supposed to be used pre3-op, along with herbs and anything containing aspirin or the like. Also, what about post-op? Should Arnica and Bromelain be used post operatively? Thank you to anyone who answers.
If you are eating a balanced diet, you probably don't need to take vitamin suppliments prior to a facelift. However, it would be safe to take a daily multi-vitamin. I would avoid high dose vitamin E pills as this could contribute to post operative bleeding. Arnica and bromelain can help decrease post opertive brusing, but be certain to check with your surgeon before taking any medications. Best wishes.
I am scheduled for a facelift in 2 weeks and i have some questions on getting prepared. Specifically my questions are: Low salt diet before and after, does it really help? What about foods rich in vitamin e since you are told to stop vit e supplements? What about vitamin e in face care products? Finally, must i stop restasis and antihistimine and decogestant eye drops and if so when? Thanks in advance - there are always great answers from the doctors on this site.
In preparing for a facelift the most important thing to do is follow your surgeon's instructions. It is important that you and he or she is on the "same page". It is also important to avoid medications such as aspirin and motrin which could cause bleeding. Avoid heavy lifting, straining, exercise, or even bending over for the first couple of weeks after the surgery as these activities can increase blood pressure and also can cause bleeding. Usually one should not eat or drink for 8 hours prior to the surgery in order to avoid nausea and vomiting. Be careful not to irritate your skin prior to the surgery, avoid excessive tanning or sun exposure, also avoid harsh facial chemicals.
