Could face lift / eye lift surgery increase your risk of reactivating a possible biofilm infection or foreign body granulomas/nodules caused by a severe adverse inflammatory reaction to dermal fillers?
A: Possible reactivation of a previous infection with a faceliftIt is possible that a facelift could reactivate a previous infection if the facelift is in the area of the previous infection. It has been shown the ruptured appendix scars that are well healed and older than ten years can harbor previous bacteria. I would think that the possibility of this happening would be small. You would have had to be infected with bacteria and not an allergic reaction.
I Have Right Orbital Floor Blowout Fracture with Minimal Displacement Identified, Can I Do Anything?
Doctors decided not to do any surgeon treatment. Just asked me to make exercises to use eye's muscles. I have a small diplopia. I wonder if it is possible that event if there is displacement there is no operation necessary. Will these bones knit together? Moreover my right eye is a little bit lower. I cannot see it, but doctors sayit is. Can I wear contact lenses?
A: blowout fracture of the orbit and what is the best treatmentBlowout fracture of the orbit with minimal displacement is a clinical call by the surgeon and patient. If the X-rays show almost no displacement then the physical signs of diplopia (double vision) and unequal eye placement comes becomes a judgement call. You have not told us how long ago you had your injury or how it happened. If you are further out than two weeks and there is resistance on pulling on the conjuctiva in an upward movement, I would explore the orbital floor and see if there is a trapped muscle. It is an easy, simple procedure and recovery is quick. You should be advised to have yearly ocular pressure measurments. It has been observed that there is a high incidence of late on set of glaucoma following a blowout fracture.
How Will My Upper Eyelid Scar Heal After Surgery? (photo)
I've had an upper eyelid surgery done 6 weeks ago. My scar is healing great however there is one question that I have. When the scar flattens will it just settle into the crease and not lay more on top of the eyelid? I like how my eyelid is looking right now. Also, on my right eye at the end of the scar line it looks slightly dogeared. My surgeon said she'll fix it at the 6mos mark if it hasn't flattened...how is that usually corrected?
A: Eyelid surgery takes time to healI have reviewed your photos and agree with Dr. Schiller that in six months you will look fine. It takes time to heal and 3 to six months is that time period.
