3 Days After Dysport and No Change to 11 Lines Although Forehead Lines Seem to Be Going

the forehead lines seem to be going slowly from hairline working way down the middle of head, still visable on the outside of forehead but nothing at all to 11 lines between eyebrows is this normal? its my first time and worried i have wasted my money??

A: Dysport and Botox for 11's wrinkles

Dysport may start to work by 48 hours though the full effect may take up to a week. After two weeks, if you still see significant 11's, you may need a combination of additional botulinum toxin touch-up injection to better manage dynamic component of the wrinkles and/or fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm or Perlane to address static aspect of the wrinkle lines.

How Long For Dysport to Wear Off?

Hi. I recently had 20 units of dysport injected in my mid-forehead area as well as right above the eyebrows and I HATE it. I'm wondering when I will start to see a lift and some softening? My brows feel really heavy, I constantly look tired, and I've lost my arch. I've read that it takes 3-4 months, but I'm wondering if a smaller amount is the same? I just want to know when I can at least START to see some lifting / movement of the brows? It's been a month - nothing so far. Thx!

A: Longevity of botulinum toxins such as Dysport or Botox

The positive benefits of botulinum toxins such as Dysport or Botox typically last 3-6 months. Undesirable or unintended side effects such as droopy eyelids from injection of glabella or heavey eyebrow from injection of forehead typically do not last much beyond 4 weeks.

Dysport Work for a Botox-resistant Patient?

My grandmother has built up a strong resistance to Botox through years of injections for treatment of cervical dystonia. She no longer sees a response to the injections, and she has been advised to give her body two years to degrade the immunity. Is Dysport different enough that she might respond?

A: Make sure adequate Botox or Dysport get injected for man or older woman

Most of the time when a man or an older woman does not respond well to Botox, it's typically a matter of not enough Botox units got injected to the desirable areas. True resistance to Botox is exceedingly rare. I do have patients for whom Dysport may work a little better than Botox and vice versa. Myobloc may work better but not yet FDA approved for cosmetic usage.
