After seaching for Surgeons in my area of Fresno I have found it hard to find one who specialize in Rhinoplasty surgery. I have found a few that have years of cosmetic surgery experience but I'm looking for one that performs lots of nose jobs regularly with great results. Does anyone have any recommendations? It would be a lot easier to have names than going to 10 consultations just to find out if the doctors are Rhinoplasty specialists. Thank you.
You are right to seek a surgeon who performs this surgery often. Looking at photos of the surgeon's work is a must. In our practice at we often will do computer imaging to give you an idea of the results that can be achieved and this is helpful in educating you about realistic changes. Don't be afraid to get more than one opinion , even if if you have to travel a short distance.
When grafts are needed for nose implants, are they usually from the patient's own body?
Most surgeons agree that grafts from your own tissue usually provide the best result with the least complications. Most commonly the cartilage from the septum is used as a first choice, with ear cartilage or rib cartilage or bone as backup.
What would be the ideal age to get a Rhinoplasty? I'm 15 and really looking forward to getting a nose job done, and have many friends who got one and had good results. I'm not sure if I should have it done now.
Rhinoplasty involves reshaping the nasal bones and cartilages to create a balance in the sub-units of the nose and proper relationships to the individual mid-face. Usually nasal growth is complete by late teens. However this surgery is a process that requires patience and sometimes an adjustment to the way we have always seen ourselves. For this reason it is important that a patient be emotionally as well as physically mature. Now is a good time to discuss your goals with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.
