live a lone and in my 70's and need upper eyelid surgery to improve vision.
Thank you for your question. I will join the chorus here and agree with the other plastic surgeons. It is in your best interest to have someone with you for that first night after surgery.
Best of luck.

My sister had both uper and lower eyelid done in Palo Alto. She told me that her doctor lifted the cheek muscle besides repositioning fat and pinched the skin under the eyes. Is it true that cheek muscle can be lifted with this procedure? She looks gorgeous.
Thank you for your question. While it is possible to reach the muscle through this approach it is highly unlikely that the cheek muscles were lifted. This approach is quite restrictive and it is difficult to obtain access to adequately address the cheek muscles. It is,however, very common to lift the orbicularis muscle (the muscle surrounding the eye) in the lower eyelid with this approach. I would suspect that this was the muscle the surgeon was referring to.
Lower bleph procedure was five days ago. I do realize that results cannot be determined for quite some time to come. However, I am very worried about my right eye. There was apparently some bleeding during the procedure and the surgeon says he was forced to cauterize. As you can see from the photos, the left eye incision looks very promising, with both the upper and lower skin perfectly aligned. The right eye, on the other hand, is very much misaligned. Surgeon says he has no concerns.
It is the usual case for one eyelid or the other to be more swollen after surgey. Your surgeon's explanation for more reaction on your right eye is compatibe with the pictures. You shoud do fine in time.
