Please explain how the fat is removed once it's "melted" by SmartLipo MPX. I'm considering the procedure and am doing my research at this time.
With energy assisted liposuction procedures - SmartLipo MPX (laser), Vaser lipo (ultrasound), etc. - the energy source imparts energy into the fat cells causing them to rupture and liquify. If the area or volume is small the body can mobilize and resorb this liquified fat though the normal healing process. If the volume of fat is moderate to large then most plastic surgeons will remove the liquified fat with traditional liposuction. Removing the liquified fat will help decrease post operative swelling and help speed the healing process.
About 6 months ago I had Smartlipo mpx to my face. The sagging fat on my jawline was corrected but left one side irregular and narrow. My question is can fat grafts be used to contour and widen my face to make it symmetrical again?
Fat grafts can be used to improve or correct areas in which SmartLipo MPX may have resulted in an irregularity or depression. If the area is small, injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, Juvederm may also be considered. However, your physician will need to assess the area for scarring and post operative swelling before determining if this is the best treatment in your individual case.
Now I'm strictly determined to loose the weight I gained before my upcoming smart lipo mpx in November 2011. Will the weight I gained affect the outcome results of the smart lipo mpx procedure? Will it make my abdomen and love handles look less flat and slim? I greatly appreciate your answers! Thank you!
Regardless of the type of liposuction (Smartlipo MPX, Vaser lipo, etc) maintaining a healthy weight through a good diet and exercise program is always important, both before and after your surgery. Not only will this help decrease risks of developing health problems such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension; but it will also limit the loss of skin elasticity we all experience as we age. Improved skin elasticity will contribute to a better liposuction result. Work on losing the weight and keeping it off and this will contribute to a good liposuction result. Good luck.
