Choosing your plastic surgeon can be confusing.  It starts with referrals from friends and family or your family doctor.  WHile this is a better way to chose your surgeon that just searching on the internet, remember that he or she may not be the right fit for you even though your friends thought he was great.

Ask about training.  Did he do a residency in plastic surgery or an appropriately related field?  How long has he been in practice?  What else does he do?  Is cosmetic surgery the main focus or just a sidelight to his regular practice?

Use your intuition too.  If it isn't the right fit, keep looking.

You can do Smartlipo now even if you're planning to have a child next year.  Being pregnant causes a lot of changes in your body but the cosmetic effects can be minimized by following your doctors recommendations regarding weight gain and staying in shape.  In my experience, Smartlipo results in a very smooth result in the right hands.  I also do tumescent liposuction, bodyjet liposuction, and vaser liposuction and I preferentially choose Smartlipo for the abdominal area because of the smooth result it can provide.

A: Smartlipo triplex can be done with local or general anesthesia The triplex can be used with local or general anesthesia. Sedation, which produces a twilight like sleep can also be used. You and your doctor can decide which is best for you based on your health, temperament, and procedures being done. I often prefer the patient not being under general anesthesia but it is nice to have all the options.
