Ok To Combine Retin A and Face Cleansing Cloths?

Is it ok to use retin-A cream after cleansing the face with just a face cleansing cloth instead of soap and water on some nights? Will the Retin A still have the same effect? Also, is it ok to use moisturizer at night after applying Retin-A. Again, will it lose potency? Thanks!

A: Retin A use with facial cleaning cloths and moisturizers

It should be safe to combine Retin-A use with a facial cleansing cloth as well as a skin moisturizer.  Start with a lower concentration of Retin-A to see how well your skin tolerates the Retin-A by itself or with the moisturizer.  If you do not have excessive redness or dryness, you can add a cleansing cloth as well.  Best wishes.

How Long Before I Should Stop Using Retin a if I Want to Plan a Baby?

How Long Before I Should Stop Using Retin a if I Want to Plan a Baby?

A: Retin-A and pregnancy

In reality, having a small serving of carrots will get you significantly more systemic absorption of vitamin-A than application of Retin-A on the face. No one would declare eating carrots is not safe prior or during pregnancy. Nevertheless, most board-certified dermatologists may recommend discontinuing tretinoin or Retin-A 3 months prior to trying to get pregnant if you want a perfect peace of mind.

Is Retin-a After Lasik Okay?

Hi, I am a patient who recently got Lasik surgery (4 days ago). I am also prescribed retin-A to control skin blemishes and acne, which I have been using for one year. I forgot about this when I got the surgery but was made aware that this could be an issue with my recent Lasik. Is it safe to go back on Retin-a? If not, at what point is it safe to return to the product. There seems to be almost no online info about this! Thanks.

A: Retin-A usage after Lasik surgery

If you have used tretinoin or Retin-A prior to surgery, Retin-A should be fine a week after Lasik surgery. Just make sure that you do not apply near the upper cheeks, under eye areas to minimize excessive eye dryness.
