i am 15 years old and i have okay teeth. my 2 front teeth are straight but each tooth next to them overlaps or goes a little behind the tooth. can i get invisalign?
The best way to find out if you are a candidate for Invisalign (Teen) is to get a comprehensive consultation with an orthodontist so s/he can evaluate the eruption of your permanent teeth. If everything looks good, theoretically, you will definitely be considered a candidate for Invisalign based on the picture you provided.
Although you may a candidate, I cannot say for certain whether Invisalign may be the optimal method (versus braces) of treatment. It is best to get an evaluation from a doctor who has experience treating patients with both Invisalign and braces to determine this.
I am planning on having a Face Lift and I am also doing Invisaligns. I am scheduled to get my impressions before I have the lift. Will the surgery change anything as far as the impressions are concerned? Should I wait until after the surgery to have the impressions done? Thank you.
This is an interesting question. It is good that you are doing the impressions prior to your facelift. You should not open your mouth as wide as possible post operatively. The teeth will not be affected by the facelift at all. It sounds like you will have a beautiful smile and a younger face. Best of luck to you!!!
My orthodontist tells me I need to wear my retainer 12 hours a day forever. Is that correct? I just finished a 21-month Invisalign treatment for crowded teeth. I was under the impression that after wearing the retainer full-time for 3 months I would only need to wear it at night. That would be my preference over the 12 hours a day which is still an intrusion. Could you please clarify.
In my opinion, retention is more critical with Invisalign than it is with traditional braces. I believe braces' results are more stable than those of Invisaligns.
The key to a successful Invisalign result is retention. You should wear your retainer faithfully as directed by your orthodontist.
