Can You Get Hair Restoration Surgery After Radiation Treatments?
I have a bald spot on the crown of my head that was caused by radiation treatments that I received to cure my brain tumor. Its been a year and a half since I've received the radiation and my radiation doctor says that the hair is not going to grow back. Is hair restoration surgery a good option for me?
A: hair restoration after radiation therapyI have many successful hair restoration procedures done on patients who lost hair from radiation therapy for brain tumors. My usual approach is to expand the adjacent scalp with a balloon expander for about 6 weeks and, then with a second procedure, move the stretched hair bearing skin over the bald area which is cut out. This gives a result immediately . Hair transplants could also work.
Can a Lower-lid Retraction Be Improved by Performing a Mid-face Lift Through the Mouth?
Could a mid-face lift by performed via the mouth in order to correct lower lid retraction by providing support -- and possibly increase volume of my hollow cheek area? Any additional eye lid cutting is a concern because I already had a blepharoplasty and canthopexy.
A: Midface life through the mouthYes and yes. The trans-oral approach is a great one and this mid-face lift can support he lower eyelid complex. Can't tell you much more than that without a little surgical history and a photo. I'll still need some suspension of the mid-face complex once it's elevated through the mouth and that can be done without cutting the lower eyelid skin. It can be done via an upper lid incision or the temporal hair tuft.

Possible to Have Surgery To Enhance My Epicanthal Folds?
Good morning, I have epicanthal folds because I'm half Asian but unfortunately I don't look exotic at all. I do not want monolids because I know there is no surgery to get them. I would like to hold a surgery to accentuate my epicanthal folds. Is it possible? Thank you very much!!!
A: Can an epicanthal fold be enhanced?Generally speaking, the answer is yes. I get this request frequently and all I can tell you is that every Asian and/or Eurasian eyelid is different from the last. Wish I could be more help but I'd need at least a photo. To give you a broad description: You'd likely need to advance some skin/tissue from adjacent areas to achieve this.
Best of luck
