Which is Better: Deep FX or Fraxel Re:pair?

in the terms of recovering of acne scarring, recovery time, effectiveness, safety, price, and any other important things to know.Thank you

A: Laser resurfacing using Deep/Active Fx, Fraxel Repair, Mixto etc

All Fractional CO2 lasers, approved by the F.D.A. share more similarities than disparities in terms of efficacy and risks. The key is to sought out an experienced laser surgeon with the experience to treat your skin type as he or she can help you decide how many passes you need, depth of laser penetration and amount of energy released by the laser. Ideally a pre-treatment and post-treatment skin care routine should be customized for your specific skin types and priorities depending on whether or not that you are acne prone, pigmentation prone, etc.

Will I Need Pain Killers the Day of Deep FX Procedure?

What medication is given for deep fx

A: Pain management for Deep Fx and Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing
Better clinical outcome usually derives from enhanced pain management during and after Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing such as Deep Fx because if the patient is not comfortable during the procedure, the planned protocol may not be able to be carried through its fruition. We typically provide topical numbing cream, nerve blocks, lorazepam, and Demerol shots during the procedure. Most of our patients do not need post-op pain pills and thus we do not prescribe on a routine basis.

Deep FX for Dark Circles?

My doctor have informed me that Deep FX can eliminate dark circles. Is that true?

A: Dark circle treatment requires a multimodal approach
Dark circles around the eyes is a multifactorial problem that involves textural changes due to deposition of hemosiderin/bilirubin (breakdown products of red blood cells), sun exposure, dry skin, hyperactive orbicularis oculi muscles, loss of volume along tear trough areas, and/or excess skin laxity. To effectively address the etiologies of your dark circles, you should be evaluated by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. There are some creams that can be helpful to minimize hemosiderin deposition, dry skin as well as to reverse prior sun damage. In the hands of an experienced physician injector, hyperactive orbicularis oculi muscles can be treated by botulinum toxin (Botox or Dysport) and loss of volume may be addressed by hyaluronic acid injection (Restylane or Juvederm) along the tear trough areas. Textural changes and mild skin laxity can be improved with Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing. However, to flat out state that "Deep Fx can eliminate dark circles" may set you up for an unrealistic expectation unless your eyelids are fully evaluated by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
