What is the difference between a "cheek lift" and a "mid face lift".
This is a word battle. Both may mean the same or not depending on the surgeon. The cheek lift may refer to a little skin tucking. The midface lift may refer more to correction of the demarcation zone between cheek and eyelids as well as the nasolabial folds. The whole thing is confusing even to surgeons and each has his own terminology. The verbal non art of surgery,I suppose, which just confuses all. Best Dr G Commons.
I had lower transcutaneous bleph on both eyes and cheek lift thru temple/mouth incisions 8 weeks ago. its been misery! i noticed the doc put a stitch in the medial corner of my right eye, and now there is scarring and a droop in the lid (see pics). under the droop i feel a verticle line of possible scarring?? both eyes seem "wide eyed" with the left corner feeling pulled down as the day goes on. also, cheeks are so high my face is distorted when i smile. main concern is they eyes.
You are way too early to worry. See your doctor and if needed seek a second opinion. There are a lot of little tricks to seed this up but be patient. At times tiny dose Kenalog injects are useful as well as courses o Medrol dosepak. Warm compreses help. Eye care to prevent dryness includes cool mist vaporizer in room, Refresh eye drops, Celluvisc gel tears, and Refresh onitment. At times Tobradex drops and ointment help because of steroid effect and antibiotic effect. Much can be done to comfort you while you heal. Dr George Commons
I would like to have something done to raise my cheeks. i am only 22 but with genetics I have drooping cheeks like my dad and my brother. I had buccal fat removal to reduce the roundness in my lower cheeks, but now it hurts to smile because i am having to "raise my cheek pads" When I smile it makes me look like I have golf balls in my cheeks.
At age 22 you do do not need a cheek lift or any surgery. See a plastic surgeon for juvederm considrtion. Dr George Commons, MD
