I have heard many different views on when it's ok to exercise post BBL but none directly relating to surfing?
Hi there - generally speaking 3 weeks is when patient can begin exertiona activities again after liposuction and fat grafting. You'll want to have a pretty light day the first time you go out surfing, maybe 1/3 of the usual time you would spend out. Then watch your body the following day for any increase in soreness or swelling. It any of that happens, just wait a bit more. If not, then you're good to go to ramp up your activities further until you should be doing all of your regular surfing, exercising and activities at 5-6 weeks after surgery. Best of luck! For good candidates, this is one of the most satisfying procedures around for both the patient and the surgeon.
i had laser lipo and brazilian buttlift april 2011. Is okay to get a tummytuck and another brazilian butt lift march 2012?
Hi there - that should not be a problem. 1 year in between the two procedures is plenty of time for the tissues to recover and the scar tissue to soften.
Hello, I am considering getting the Brazilian Buttlift but I am worried about the amount of scars I will receive afterwards. I understand that liposuction has to be done for the fat transfer and I read that it has to be harvested from different areas of the body. My concern is that I don't want too many little scars on my body and was wondering if it is possible they can lipo only one or two parts of my body (say just from the thighs and abdomen)?
Thanks for your question.
In our San Francsico area practice we perform this operation frequently. The principal benefit from a Brazilian is the significant contour change with small amount of scar.
We hide the lipo scars (typically less than a centimeter long) in the belly button for the abdomen and at the lateral flanks for the flank liposuction area. We usually require 3 small scars to get the fat back in - one of them is hidden in the vertical gluteal cleft.
I encourage you to look at our before and after photos here on RealSelf or on our website to see for yourself.
Thanks!
