Hi. I am in my mid 30s and looking to have some non surgical facial rejuvenation done. My main issues are (slightly) uneven skin, uneven skin tone (mostly brown spots but nothing that can't be covered with light makeup).... I am looking for something with only 3-5(max) day down time... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Daily use of a moisturizer with SPF 30+ (one with broad spectrum coverage containing for example Mexoryl or Avobenzone) would be my first suggestion. As for topical creams, one containing a combination of tretinoin, hydroquinone and hydrocortisone, or with hydroquinone alone, can be used intermittently. As for noninvasive procedures, IPL would likely help with the redness and brown spots.
I'm 28 and looking for a laser treatment that addresses fine lines, mild acne scarring, and sun damage and tightening. I've had micro laser peels in the past and was not too impressed with the results. My biggest concerns are the lines/small folds under my eyes, fine lines from nose to mouth, and overall texture/tone. Would Active FX or Fraxel CO2 be effective for my needs? I would prefer a laser that only requires 1 or 2 treatments.
We have found Active/ Total FX to be a great treatment for fine lines and acne scars in younger patients. Healing time is generally about one week, and all patients have noted significant improvement. For facial rejuvenation, one treatment is usually all that is needed, however for acne scars patients may want a touch up treatment after 3 months.
Im 42 & have sun damage & fine lines. Is fraxel the best treatment for me?
There are numerous options available to you for the treatment of sun-damaged skin and fine lines including laser technologies and chemical peels. The treatment of your sun-damaged skin should be combined with sun protection habits including daily application of a good moisturizer with a broad spectrum sunscreen, a daily exfoliating agent (e.g. tretinoin cream or glycolic), and perhaps an anti-oxidant (e.g. Revale, Prevage, vitamin C serum). You would need to be evaluated in person to determine exactly what treatment plan would be most appropriate for you, as there are a number of factors to consider including your skin type, associated down-time, not to mention your budget.
Good luck.
