I have fairly yellowed teeth, hate my smile. I am a business professional and need to get some luster back. I am considering veneers, but am trying to determine approx how many teeth. Cost is always a consideration. If I went with 6 for example on topside, would it look ridiculous to not Veneer any bottom teeth? Not too keen about paying for 10-12 teeth @ 1k per tooth. 6k is probably about about my budget.
As long as your teeth are healthy and you are considering elective cosmetic treatment you can do whatever makes you happy with your smile. From a cosmetic dentists view you will need an analysis of all the features of your smile and a good understanding of what will make it look its best. The options for a smile makeover should include whitening, composite bonding, porcelain veneers and gingival contouring. A good functional restorative cosmetic dentist should be able to present you with the best option for your situation. I hope you get the smile of your dreams. A business professional with a beautiful health smile is always a winner. If you send me some photos I will give you my opinion. drsalazar@missiontrailsdentistry.com
My husband has been visiting the dentist for the last three weeks. Week one was routine check-up and x-rays. Week two was periondontal scaling to the left, week three was periondontal scaling to the right side. Next week is removal of gold crowns and placement of temporary porcelain crowns until permanent crowns are ready. Our dentist told us this is the only option. I was wondering if veneers was an option-- our dentist didn't mention them at all!!! It six gold crowns in front....
Once a tooth has been prepared for a crown you cannot have a veneer done on that tooth in the future. A crown restoration encircles that whole tooth and a veener only covers the front surface of the tooth. It sounds like your husband is going to a great dentist that has a plan to get his teeth and gums healthy.
My front tooth is chipped in half. My dentist provided me with the option of bonding or a 3/4 crown on my tooth. Considering I am only 23, which option would be the best for the long term? How many years should I get out of dental bonding vs a 3/4 crown? How strong is dental bonding on a fron tooth?
What everyone will agree on is that there is nothing better than natural tooth structure. Considering that you are only 23 and that any restoration will need to be replaced at least once in your lifetime. I suggest that you find a dentist that will give you the result that you are happy with while treating the least number of teeth possible. Ask the dentist for before and after photos of his/her work and discuss all options. Hope that helps.
