I was wondering how long I'd have to wait between Photo Facial treatments? What is the typical amount of time?
The average amount of time to wait between Photo facial treatments is 3 to 4 weeks. The light from the Photo facial targets the darkened cells in the skin causing them to heat up and be destroyed. Next the damaged cells then rise to the surface and slough off. That process takes 3 weeks on average to complete. Once complete, the treatment is the repeated for a total of 3 to 5 treatments.
I have very fine facial hair, like most women, but I'm worried that if I have a photo facial that the hair will be burned off during treatment and then grow back thicker. Am I crazy?
You're not crazy, it's a valid question! The light from the photo facial is attracted to pigment and does not differentiate between what is present in the skin verses in the hair follicule. Therefore if the hair is anything other than grey or blonde, it may respond to the light from the photofacial and disappear. The hair will not come back thicker, if anything it will decrease which most patients are pleased with.
How many for improvement, and then how often to sustain the improvement?
Every persons results will vary, however, most patients see a tremendous improvement after their first session. On average we recommend a series of 3 to 6 approximately one month apart. Depending on the settings, skin tone and compliance of the patient, will determine how many sessions are needed.
