What Procedure Would Be Best After Pregnancy: Tummy Tuck or Liposculpture?

After 3 pregnancys i weight 135lb and I'm 5'5. I'm thinking of getting a tummy tuck, but peple tell me I would be a better candidate for a Liposculpture abdominal? I do have stretch mark in my abdominal area.

A: abdplasty vs. lipo

Without seeing photos it is impossible to advise you in your particular circumstance.  If you have significant stretch marks and skin that creates folds, you are probably a better candidate for the tummy tuck.  In general, a tummy tuck will give you a flatter abdomen than lipo alone, but it does involve a large scar and is a longer recovery.  You may want to resubmit you question along with photos and I think you will get better feedback regarding what would work best for you.

Adverse Effects of Liposculpture on Pregnancy?

This is a tough one! I had Liposculpture on 4/20/09 on my whole stomach area, upper and lower abdomen and my lower and middle back. Afterwards I had synergy massages, but had to stop because I just found out I am 7 weeks pregnant!

This is a big surprise. I got pregnant just shortly after the procedure. Does the fluid still in my body or the short time period between surgery and conception have any negative effects to the fetus? I am doing my research, please help!

A: Pregnancy Shortly After Surgery

Thank you for the question.

Since conception  happened after  the procedure I do not think you have much to worry about. The residual fluid and the possibility of a small amount of residual medication probably will be inconsequential.

Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy.

A: Liposuction and Stretch Marks?

Thank you for the question.

Liposuction surgery does not improve stretch marks;  “deflating” the involved area of adipose tissue may actually make the stretch marks more visible.

Ideal candidates for liposuction surgery are patients who present with isolated,  diet and exercise resistant,  adipose tissue with good quality ( high elasticity) overlying skin.

Best wishes.
