Hyaluronidase to Dissolve Restylane on my Nose?

Recently I had restylane injected to my nose for about 0.5 cc and I extremely hate it. I don't want anything but having the old one back. I really miss it. Would it be okay to my nose if I do the hyaluronidase thing? I have heard about it but not sure. Can anyone please help clarify the work of hyaluronidase thing to me and some effects that I might get? I'd kill for this to be over. thank you.

A: Hyaluronidase to reverse Restylane

The reassuring thing about the Hyaluronic Acid fillers (Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm) are that you can reverse them using the enzyme Hyaluronidase.  So the answer to your question is- yes.  I agree with the other physicians, that you should wait until the swelling is down.  In the future, when it comes to your nose, you absolutely need to have a rhinoplasty surgeon treat you.  Whether it is for a surgical or non-surgical indication, understanding of the nasal anatomy and nuances of nasal balance need to be firmly  understood before treating the nose with fillers.  The good news, is that in this case, it is reversible.

Good luck.

Is It Safe to Get Hyaluronidase to Resolve Restalyn in the Nose?

I recently opted for a restalyn injection on one side on the tip of my nose. This area is a little less full than the other side. I had the procedure done once before and it turned out great. However this time the doctor injected it to high into an area that did not need it and now my nose looks crooked. I would like to get the Hyaluronidase treatment to remove it yet I am worried about it damaging existing tissue since that area is already lacking in fullness. I have read conflicting reports.

A: Hyaluronidase excellent choice for removing restylane

If you have already tried to mold the product into position and that hasn't worked, dissolving it with Hyaluronidase is both safe and effective when diluted properly, injected in the right area, and depth, and injected by a specialized physician (dermatologist, plastic surgeon, etc).  I have used the product without any complications.     Best, Dr. Groff

Good Doctor to Remove Juvederm in Philadelphia Area?

I have had a bad experience with Juvederm. It's almost been a week and I want it out. How do I find an experienced doc to do this? Do I look for a Surgeon or Dermatologist? Any recommendations for Philadelphia?

My surgeon told me to wait it out, but it looks terrible. He promised to be conservative, but he actually created a problem where there was none. I had a slight smile line which wasn't even my concern. He injected by my mouth and now the lines now protrude. He does not have experience with Vitrase.

A: Removing Juvederm

It is unfortunate you had a negative experience with Juvederm. It has been a very safe and satisfying product in my practice. The product is a gel made from hyaluronic acid-a compound normally present in skin and soft tissue. The molecules in Juvederm are glued together to make it more difficult for the body to get rid of it but the product is still temporary, lasting 6-12 months.

One can hasten its removal by injecting hyaluronidase - an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. It goes by various trade names, one of which is Vitrase. It is safe and relatively easy to use but somewhat expensive and often times, hard to find. Control of how much Juvederm you remove can be difficult so if you opt for injections of hyaluronidase, expect complete removal of the Juvederm. There was one experience I had with a patient requesting hyaluronidase. By the time my supplier was able to get the medication it was several weeks later. The injection site had settled and she no longer wanted the hyaluronidase. You may wish to be patient a bit longer.
