Compared to the traditional surgical approach, what are the benefits and the possible adverse effects of implants through the belly button?
I concur with the other physicians that answered this question. In addition, I have recently seen a patient in consultation that developed swelling of the abdominal wall between the two tunnels that were used to insert her implants. I would not recommend this operation. The implants are safe and are the standard saline implants used by the majority of plastic surgeons.
I'm going on 11 years with my implants and they feel okay but I would feel much better if I could get a doctors opinion. My problem is that my original doctor has been disbarred from the medical field and I don't know who to turn to or what to expect at my consultation(s).
Hello,
Sorry to hear of your troubles. Hopefully you kept your breast implant data card to let your new doctor know what your implants were exactly. Pick a new board-certified plastic surgeon. Ask your primary care doctor for a referral.

Im 29 and i have a b cup breast, im very athletic and i have been recommended round implants under the muscle. My only concern now is i plan to start trying for kids in a years time, is it just better to wait till i have kids to get implants?? thanks so much xx
I would advise that your wait till after your have your baby. Pregnancy tends to stretch the skin and enlarge the breast. This plus an implant would stretch the skin causing the majority of women to have stretch marks and possible sagging.
