Is 36 Year Old Too Young for Thermage?

I am 36 years old and I am considering Thermage. I have fair, tight skin and have subtle signs of aging (little sagging around my mouth). But is 36 years too young? Or is it better to start young to keep your skin in good condition? Or wait until there are more signs of aging?

Thanks for advice, regards from Holland.

A: Is 36 Year Old Too Young for Thermage?

Mid to late 30's can be a great age to have Thermage. This noninvasive, no recovery procedure will stimulate collagen production and maintain skin tone. It is a perfect compliment to Botox/Dysport and fillers to maintain a healthy appearance and forestall surgery. The goal is to mainatain a youthful appearance, rather than trying to regain a youthful appearance.

Can Thermage Help with the Fat Pads Under the Eyes?

I have puffy eyes due to the fat pads under my eyes.I had this all my life, I was told by two dr that the only thing I could do was to have them removed. but now I was told that thermage would help. Is this true? I am 42 and would like to put off getting cut.

A: Thermage or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) for fat pads under the eyes

Fat pads under the eyes are deep to the muscle and below the effective level of Thermage , This procedure will do nothing for your fat pads . You should save your money and have a lower blepharoplasty  instead.

Thermage or Laser Resurfacing for Winkles and Lines?

For fine line and wrinkles around the mouth do you recommend Thermage or Laser resurfacing?

A: Laser Resurfacing

The gold standard for wrinkles and fine lines has been laser resurfacing and continues to be. Thermage works below the skin's surface or below the wrinkles to heat the collagen and tighten the skin. I would also suggest that it is not an either or and that you may benefit from both treatments as they tend to address different aspects of the skin.
