After my 6 month accutane course, my acne is cleared. About a month ago, I had Restlyn injected to smooth some acne scars, and now I am interested in getting TCA peels to help with hyper pigmentation and further smooth my skin. Would the TCA peel negatively affect the fillers? - is there a certain time period I have to wait after the Restlyn before having TCA peels?
There is no need to wait any length of time to have your peels. Assuming you are having a superficial peel, 20% TCA or less, The peels will not adversely affect the filler in any way. If you are having more than a superficial peel, you need to wait AT LEAST 6 months after your last dose of Accutane to have the peel.
I had a partial face lift (chin), fat injections and a TCA peel of entire face, 4 days ago. The skin is off my face already(I did not pick it,it came off)and very red. The doctor told me I could use Aquafore, which I have used each day.He told me to wash my face normally after 24 hours, with whatever facial cleanser I usually use, which I have ( a mild L'Oreal face wash)and then to either reapply the Aquafore, or leave dry. I have used the Aquafore. What else can I do? Doctor is on vacation!
An ointment based salve such is aquaphor should be used several times a day for the first few days, and for comfort use cool compresses, cool water spritzes and a fan. After the peeling process heavy creams should be introduced with a tapering off of the ointment. Stay out of the sun, the redness will fade in 2 to 4 weeks.
I've read various responses online about this questions. Some say that it lasts up to 6 months. Some say it lasts for a long time as long as you take care of your skin. I've performed a 15% TCA peel on acne red/dark spots. I am still waiting for my skin to peel. If it went successfully, will the results last forever?
The results will last depending on how you take care of your skin after the peel. There are some excellent products, such as Obagi that have a great home system, including cleansers and moisturizer that can help make the peel's result last a long time. But equally important is sun exposure, be sure to use a good sun block, wear a hat and sunglasses when out in the sun.
