The day of my treatment it looked great. Just the fullness where it was injected. However, by the next day I looked like a chipmunk! My cheeks got huge and red and hot. The swelling went down into my jawline making me look like I have jowls. Very unattractive! My face looks weird and fat. Please tell me this is just a reaction and that it will go away and I will get the results I saw initially after treatment. I let my Dr. know and they gave me prednisone and I am sleeping with head elevated.
It does sound as if your swelling was out of the ordinary. It will resolve. Your physician is doing the right thing. I would not use Sculptra again without performing a skin test in the doctors office. He or she can inject the mixed Sculptra into an inconspicuous place as well as whatever he or she uses to mix the Sculptra injected separately to determine what component you may have reacted to.
At my consultation my dermatologist wanted to use sculptra to restore volume to my face. I wanted more immediate results, so I chose radiesse instead. While I see a difference in my face from the radiesse, I think I would like to try sculptra to see if I can get more volume than I have from the radiesse. Being that I just recieved the radiesse treatments a month ago, would it be too soon to start the sculptra treatments?
Actually, the two are an ideal couple. Radiesse giving you some instant gratification and Sculptra the all over volume. Remember to be patient with the Sculptra injections. It takes several treatments and several months to see results. Best to you.
I had a top up of sculptra after 18 months, big mistake. Had one vial over whole face, this time he injected directly into naisobal fold area, it looks awful, I look so different. I can hardly reconise my self it is now 11 weeks and getting worse. I really should not have had top up, this has ruined my life, it has effeced me so much I can not leave the house and am on anti depressants. I think if he had not inected into this area i would not look so bad. should sculptra be injected into this ar
Sculptra is commonly injected into the NL folds. Please see your injector if you are unhappy to ensure you are not having any untoward reaction.
