Would Restylane Work For Blackness in Tear Trough Area? (photo)

I have what seems like thin skin in the tear trough area on the inner most part of the lower lid, which extends a few cm's down the tear trough area. There is also no flesh under the skin there. Would having restylane injections in this area help with the blackness by giving some volume or would it just lift the whole area and remain transparent with the muscle colour reflecting through the skin? Help I constantly look worn out....

A: Restylane for under eye circles

Restylane may very well help you.  If you elevate the skin under the eye by pressing on your cheek, you can often see what the area will look like when elevated by filler.  Your doctor should be able to show you this prior to injections.  Restylane works best in patients who have not had prior blepharoplasty with fat removal.  Best to you.

Why Are Restylane Injections (Undereye Hollows) So Expensive?

It's usually recommended that 2 syringes are used per eye; $1000 per syringe. Why is restylane so expensive? Is appears cheaper and more convienent to get an under eye implant atleast the results will be permanent where as with restylane you'll have to come back approximately every 6 months to 1 year for injections. Someone please help, I need undereye hollows filled but I can't afford $3000-4000 for restylane injections.

A: Restylane for under eye hollows

Price varies widely for Restylane, but 1000 dollars is on the high side, likely because you live In a city where overhead for a doctor's office is exorbitant.  I typically use one 1-2 syringes of Restylane at 600 per syringe.  There are also half syringes that can be used so occasionally a patient might get 1 1/2 syringes.  Restylane under the eyes typically lasts for a year.    An experienced injector can usually improve the area significantly with one syringe and then you can add additional product in 3-6 months when your budget allows.  Please do not price shop.  The most important factor is the experience of your physician.

Am I a Candidate for Restylane For Tired Eyes? (photo)

Am I a candidate for Restylane? if not, any suggestions on how to make my eyes look less tired and healthy looking? I do have some darkness a bit under my eyes as can been seen in the pic. as you can see there are bags right under my eyes. I feel that my eyes are very deep set/hollow looking and seem to have that tired look all the time.

A: Restylane for under eye area

Restylane is a beautiful option for under the eyes.  Occasionally a very small amount of Botox is also injected to help with the muscle protrusion and if done correctly will not cause a slump.  Fillers under the eyes is an advanced technique so please be sure you are seeing a board certified dermatologist, plastic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon.
