I'm considering a full TT and recently had a consultation with a PS. The PS is concerned about tissues in umbilical area which are much thinner than other tissues. He is recommending Removing this skin which will lead to a vertical scar in addition to the standard transverse scar and the umbilical scar. I saw 2 other surgeons in the US and no one ever mentioned this before. I had to move to the UK before I could do the surgery so this is a UK board certified physician. Does this sound right?

Your tummy is somewhat unique in appearance. You have a diastasis of your muscles where they have split and a protuberance of your tummy.
What does your tummy look like when you say down flat? If it still protrudes, you will have some difficulty obtaining the result you may dream of.
If you have a lot of skin laxity, a vertical scar is very nice to help resect as much skin as possible BUT if you are darkly complected, you risk for poor scarring is higher.
So ask yourself whether you could handle an ugly, stretched out, raised scar in the midline for a better profile and if so, a vertical would work well. If not, then consider staying with the traditional scar as much as possible. You should clarify this with your surgeon before scheduling.
Hello Doctors: Im 36 years old. Im a black female of Jamaican descent. I have had 3 c-sections. I have a beautiful face and a bad body. my stomach hangs over on the top of my vagina, and my butt is flat and out of shape. I'm 5/5. I am willing to become any doctors subject, even if they are just starting out, as I feel desperate, and have no money. I want my hanging stomach gone and a nicer shaped butt. I will be satisfied with a new body as long as it looks better than what I have now.
As mentioned, you may find the best prices at training programs when having surgery. Ideally, you should be at a weight you can maintain easily as weight fluctuations in the future following such surgery will lead to some unusual body shapes.
It is possible you may find a doctor who has no experience with what you are considering and who may then provide you with a great deal. You will need to know about the "what ifs" should they occur as these procedures often require more than one procedure. In addition, there the costs of the facility and the anesthesiologist which can add up to quite a bit.
If you truly "have no money", you should focus on yourself and what you are able to achieve through diet and exercise and start saving for the costs mentioned here. Nothing is really free. Good luck with reaching your goals.
I saw 2 docs and both said I could be candidate for mini or full tt, but would have more skin if did mini, but new bb if I do full. Don't really want new bb, but if do underneath and have to fix muscles all the way up doc said they cut umbilicus underneath - only way to gain access. I don't like this idea so is there another way? Endoscopy??
There are so many variables to consider when trying to decide what will make you happy. Your presentation also influences what can be done. You should talk more in depth with the surgeon you are going to go with and clearly define how much skin you can remove, how much muscle tightening can be done (extended mini-tucks can take the muscle suturing up to your ribs like a full tummy tuck), how thick your fatty layer is and will it benefit from liposuction, umbilical float or transposition ("new belly button"), scarring (vertical scar too?) and level of scarring (some end up much higher than you would think). You should know the plan and anticipated results. Good luck on achieving yours!
