I saw my PS because I was worried the right breast is getting higher on my chest making me looked lopsided. Was told to do vigorous massage & see him for my 3 month appt at the end of Aug. Its not firm but not as soft as it was, the bottom of the breast has lost roundness.
My surgery was 5-27-09. I want to be proactive and understand that capsular contracture can't always be avoided but would like to know that I have done everything possible, even going for a second opinion.
Left Picture taken 6-22 and right picture 7-8.
This certainly looks like early capsular contracture but your surgeon is the best person to determine this. Massage can definitely help, and you may want to ask him about Singulair and Vitamin E.
I am 6 weeks post op, and am worried that I haven't dropped enough. I have Smooth Moderate Plus Saline implants (300cc's)and I had very little breast tissue to begin with. They're not super soft, but they're not super hard either. My PS suggested silicone for me- but I worry and went with saline. I'm ok with slightly harder breasts as long as they're ok! Hopefully I'm just being paranoid.
Your Plastic Surgeon is the best person to answer this after a quick exam. Your implants will settle with more time.
It's been about 7 days since my left breast implant(silicon) has been replaced. It was taken out due to a breast abcess about 5 months ago. I can feel alot of fluid surrounding the implant. I have spoken to my PS about this and he seems to think that it is normal. Can it be a seroma?? I'm really worried this time around as I've already waited so long with only one breast. Will this fluid go away by itself or will it cause further complications??
This is best answered by your surgeon, who said it was normal. Follow up with him and follow his recommendations. If it doesn't resolve in 3-4 weeks then a seroma is one possibility and should be investigated.
