Could Restylane affect vision or cause a reaction or swelling in the eyelids?
It's safe, but you have to be careful. That is because the risk of embolizing (getting filler into a vessel) one of the small arteries that supplies the skin between the eyebrows seems to be higher in this area. If one of these vessels gets occluded by intravascular injection of restylane or any filler, an area of skin between the eyebrows will die, leaving a wound that has to be dealt with, obviously not a desirable situation.
Many patients want that crease between the eyes to go away, and if is well-formed, long-standing and deep, Botox alone will not take care of it. All Botox can do is stop the creasing over time and maybe the crease will improve or not get worse as a result.
When filler is used between the eyebrows, care should be taken to inject very slowly and smoothly and inject while withdrawing the needle. This technique lessens the chance that some filler will get injected into a vessel. Another precaution I take is to put a finger over the orbital rim to put pressure on the vessels. That will prevent any filler from going back toward the eye and collapse the vessels in the area to be injected, lessening the chance that filler will get into them.
I'm a big baby I don't like pain, I've wanted lips for a year now and I'm finally going to face my fears and get over it. My mom has Restylane done to her lips and she said it hurt very badly. She did have a dental block, but it still hurt. I have asked myself over and over. Am I willing to go under that bit of pain to look better? I've had a nose job, the only pain I had was when the dr was removing my cast, I cried, but I got over it.
Everyone has a different pain tolerance. Some of my patients only want ice before injections and some require intravenous sedation. It is all about what works for you. You can find a plastic surgeon or dermatologist that will design a treatment plan that you are comfortable with. You don't have to suffer to have Restylane or any other treatment. If your doctor doesn't offer the options you desire, look around. You can find someone who does.
I have had 0.5ml and it wasn't enough. I feel that 1ml would be too much. I only have it in my top lip. Thanks :-)
Since you didn't post a photo I have no idea about your facial aesthetics. However, you may want to consider using a full cc of Restylane and using what isn't need for your upper lip in your lower. I have noticed that the lower lip is often ignored but is a very important part of the facial aesthetic.
