Our skin loses elasticity as we get older, resulting in signs of aging like deep wrinkles, jowls, and sagging. Nonsurgical treatments like Botox and dermal fillers can improve many of these issues, but they can’t give the dramatic result of surgery. Facelift surgery (rhytidectomy) is one of the most popular procedures at my Palo Alto practice. I offer the deep-plane facelift, mini facelift, mid-face lift, and SMAS facelift. Each of these techniques can rejuvenate the face, for a refreshed, natural look. I’m also known for my expertise with neck lift surgery, which focuses on removing excess skin and fat in and around the neck area. Depending on your aesthetic goals, these procedures can be performed alone or at the same time. Many of my patients like to combine a neck lift with another procedure, such an eyelid lift, brow lift, mid-face lift, or a platysmaplasty, the latter of which is done to tighten or alter the muscles underneath the chin.

As we age, the appearance of our eyes can change drastically, resulting in wrinkles, fine lines, under-eye bags, and even sagging and drooping—all of which can make us look tired and a lot older than we actually are. While no eye cream is strong enough to remedy these issues, an eyelid enhancement procedure can correct them. At my Palo Alto practice, I regularly perform blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, on patients who are looking for rejuvenation or improvement in the eye area. An upper eyelid surgery can help correct excess and loose skin in the upper eye area, and can also improve hooding that causes the lids to look heavy. Lower eyelid surgery can improve eye bags, wrinkles, and even dark under-eye circles. With Asian double eyelid surgery, the technique consists of creating a fold in the upper eyelid on patients who naturally lack a crease in the upper eye. I also perform laser eyelid surgery, which results in less bleeding and less operating time.

Rhinoplasty and Nose Shaping

Rhinoplasty can correct issues like a crooked nose or asymmetrical nostrils, while bringing more of a balanced look to the entire face. Some patients can benefit from a functional rhinoplasty, which can even improve sinus or breathing issues that are related to a deviated septum, nasal polyps, or enlarged turbinates. My Palo Alto rhinoplasty patients can expect a completely personalized experience. I always make sure that each patient’s aesthetic goals are met, while preserving and protecting the features of their unique backgrounds. This is especially important for my patients who request an ethnic rhinoplasty. I also offer a nonsurgical nose job at my Palo Alto practice. For this procedure, I use dermal fillers, such as Restylane, to treat issues such as a bump on the bridge of the nose, crooked nostrils, or a low bridge. While this is a temporary fix, it is a good option for those who only want to correct minor imperfections.
