Will my Surgeon Be More Likely to Do a Better Job on my Rhinoplasty if I'm His First Surgery of the Day or the Last?

I know it seems like a silly question but its really not. Take for example my hair stylist. I've found she does a much better job if I'm her very first client of the day. Verses being the last when she;s worked all day and tired. I know a stylist goes through a lot more clients in a day then a surgeon, so their not comparable. But i'm still wondering if it makes a difference? I've researched my surgeon and am confident in him but i'm still looking for the best possible results, as is anyone!!

A: What time of day is best to have surgery

As you can see from the answers, it totally depends on the surgeon. Some surgeons feel they can deliver consistently good results whether first thing in the morning, or last surgery of the day. Others have a strong preference on what time of day they operate. Personally I will only schedule surgery if I feel like I can give it my best, no matter what time it is starting. If I have a difficult or long surgery, I prefer to schedule it first thing in the morning. I prefer to do a combination of complex and simple cases on any given day, rather than multiple long complex cases in one day. It depends on what your surgeon is accustomed to, and what he or she prefers.

Breast Implant Rotation

It seams both my left and right are rotating,iv had anatomic implants. My sergeon says i might have to have round ones, but will i have to pay for this? i have emailed to ask but had no reply.

A: Problem with anatomic shaped implants

That is a known risk of having anatomic (or tear drop shaped) implants-They can rotate. If round implants rotate it does not affect the shape. When a shaped anatomic implant rotates, the breast  becomes distorted. It’s hard to get a good sense of what is going on from  your photos. If it’s simply a rotation issue, they could be repositioned (and pockets altered as needed) or you could switch to round implants. Each surgeon has different policies on the cost of revisional procedures. Some will waive a surgeons fee, and charge only the cost of implants, OR, and anesthesia. One place to look is your preoperative paperwork. Usually the policies will be stated in your paperwork.  I would definitely discuss your concerns with your surgeon and/or his or her staff. If email did not get a response, you should call the office. Good luck!

PSP Facelift Results As Dramatic As SMAS Facelift?

I am seeing a surgeon tomorrow, who suggests going ahead with a PSP Facelift. I'd like to know first, will PSP facelift results look as dramatic as SMAS facelift?

A: Platysma SMAS Plication Face Lift

The Platysma SMAS Plication face lift is one of many techniques that have been employed for facial rejuvenation.  While this technique can lift the facial tissues it is limited by the fact that the tissues are only lifted in one direction.  Thus it is an effective technique but is more limited than the use of a multivectored SMAS flap.
