PSP Facelift Results As Dramatic As SMAS Facelift?

I am seeing a surgeon tomorrow, who suggests going ahead with a PSP Facelift. I'd like to know first, will PSP facelift results look as dramatic as SMAS facelift?

A: Platysma SMAS Plication Face Lift

The Platysma SMAS Plication face lift is one of many techniques that have been employed for facial rejuvenation.  While this technique can lift the facial tissues it is limited by the fact that the tissues are only lifted in one direction.  Thus it is an effective technique but is more limited than the use of a multivectored SMAS flap.

What is Your Opinion of the Roundblock SMAS Facelift Technique?

I'm 46 years old Finnish woman and am having some signs of ageing, especially on the neck. One plastic surgeon recommended a Roundblock smas -operation for me.

I was told that the RoundBlock SMAS treatment is a suspension method for face-lifts that is safe, yields fast results and reduced scars and no dead space, requires no drains, and has a quick recovery time.

Is anyone familiar with this surgery method and what is your opinion of it?

A: RoundBlock SMAS Technique

The RoundBlock SMAS Technique is a face lift technique that involves limited skin undermining and a pursestring suture placed around the ear.  This may be effective in a small population of patients.  However, most patients require a more involved procedure that allows for repositioning of the facial fat using the SMAS layer to restore the heart-shaped face of youth.  The careful placement of incisions and closure of the skin without tension is by far more important to having inconspicuous scars than the technique of SMAS elevation.

Are my Areola Incision Scars Healing Well? (photo)

I am an African American 8 months post op (breast aug) and I am very worried about how my scars are healing. They often appear bright pink or red. Also I can feel the scars over my shirt this worries me that they aren’t healing flat enough. I have not used anything to aid in the healing of the scars and wonder if I should use some of the suggested silicone strips, scar cream or vitamin E.

A: Quality of periareolar scars

Reviewing your photographs shows somewhat widened scars, but  more importantly the scars are hypopigmented which makes them stand out even more.  I would try some scar management with massage, Mederma, and gel sheeting.  I would try to hold out to see if some of these pigmentation issues improve.  Most likely, however, you will require a scar revision.
