I live in Russia. Many clinics in Moscow use Fraxel devices of different types. One of the clinics offers Mixto SX fractional laser saying that it is more effective, since the same results are achieved with just one treatment. Is it true? I'm considering using this laser to get rid of nasolabial wrinckles and fine lines on my upper lip. Will these wrinkles and lines go away? I'm 35, female.
I personally think that Mixto gives the best results for most facial wrinkles, especially the ones you describe.
I have bad acne scars for years. For the last 2 years I had went through 6 sessions of Fraxel. There is improvement on my scars but it is still no where near the 'normal' clear skin. Is there anyway for my skin to be'normal' looking again? I read that 1 session of MiXto SX CO2 Fractional Laser has the same result as 6 sessions of Fraxel. Will MiXto SX CO2 Fractional Laser help me?
Both Mixto and Fraxel are fractional lasers. The Mixto is the "next generation" and in my experience works much better than Fraxel.
Since I have not seen your photos, it is difficult to know it either laser will help you. If you have superficial acne scars, the Mixto Laser will improve the appearance with one session, but not totally eliminate the scars.
If you have ice pick acne (deep holes), only removal and closure of the acne scars will work.
I do agree, however, the Mixto Laser is better than Fraxel.
I had Mixto Laser on my neck, the front side (half of my neck) but I still have redness especially after I was my face with warm water or get a facial which includes just includes a mini massage around the neck. It's only around the area where I got the Mixto done. Is this normal or will this go away? I am a 35-year old Asian female with thin skin.
Mixto Laser is essentially fractionated CO2 laser, and the amount of "damage" done to the skin can vary, depending on the laser settings.
In my experience, after Mixto laser, it is not unusual for the skin to be slightly pink and shiny, compared to non-lasered skin.
What you describe is unusual, but not necessarily abnormal, as every one is different.
My recommendation is to speak with your surgeon. Most likely, he/she will recommend time (usually several months) for re-evaluation.
