I posted a similar question but included some before pics. All responses were referencing the before and not the after pics so I'm posting again omitting them. Had a rapid expansion and Lefort on my upper jaw, and a mandibular advancement to correct some jaw issues as well as a fat transfer to my upper lip. My nose and nostrils have widened significantly and my lips are uneven when I smile. In addition, my teeth barely show at rest. What are my options? These are my after pics. Thanks!
It is impossible to detail what procedures would be best for you. However, for thin lips and asymmetry, various fillers and fat can be used to augment the lips and correct asymmetry. The timing depends on how long ago the fat was injected and when your maxillary surgery was done. A widened tip can be corrected with various techniques. Your pictures show some modest issues that can be addressed by a competent rhinoplastic surgeon.
Best luck!
Hi. I have a very long space between my nose and upper lip, but my upper lip itself is fairly thin. If I just have a bullhorn lip lift, won't that make the vermilion part of my upper lip seem to disappear? Would something else need to be done as well?
A bullhorn lip lift shorten the distance between your upper lip and nose, and would not cause your upper lip to disappear. It can actually make more of your vermilion show depending on the technique. It does not add volume to the upper lip however. Making the upper lip fuller can be done by a variety of methods. My favorite two methods are either fillers (which are temporary), and dermal fat grafts (permanent unless removed), where skin and fat can be taken in a thin strip (from a previous scar or from a hidden area) and inserted into the upper lip to give a very natural appearing fuller lip.
Which offers best long lasting result and hides scarring best with lip lift ,excising skin only or skin with muscle hemming?
It depends on how much lifting needs to be done. Generally, the muscle is left untouched, but more than just the skin is removed.
