I've wanted to do this for a very long time (common theme with this procedure) but just recently received approval from insurance (Kaiser). I'm trying to be realistic about my expectations but I don't want smaller versions of what they look like now and that is my biggest fear. I've found a PS, Dr. Rajiv Iyer, that I'm very happy with (Orange County). He's been great answering all my... more

After years of back pain and intended shoulders I made the serious decision to move forward with this surgery. My insurance initial gave me the step of seeing a specialist and a physical therapy was recommended but after seeing my surgeon he said I was a clear case of a reduction. I was a 34 F (so I thought), 140 and 5'2. A month after meeting my PS it was time to rock and roll. I was beyond... more
I'm 20 years old and in college. I am currently a size 34G and I've been waiting for this surgery practically since I was 12! I think in 3rd grade I already had noticeable breasts. Dr. Song was recommended to me via my breast cancer tumor surgeon. Things had moved so fast in my case that I was Ill equipped to pick or interview a plastic surgeon and everything you read in advance just evaporated from my brain. I sat in his office and he said "Are there any questions I can answer for you?" and I basically said 'This is all happening so fast, my surgery has moved up many... more
I have a little over a month before my surgery and although I'm so excited to buy regular clothes and bras, I'm nervous about all the unknowns. I'm a 34 DDD. I weigh 165 right now and I'm trying to get down to 155 before my surgery. I'm not sure this is possible anymore. I'm worried that if my belly sticks out further than my boobs I'll get depressed. Christmas is the worst time to lose... more
I'm scheduled for surgery on the 22. I'm soooo nervous and unsure. I feel like I have researched to no end . I'm mostly worried about the drains and having them taken out, as well as seeing incisions for the first time when ever they need to be changed and stuff. And to make matters worse my boyfriends away on work so I'm home alone which leaves lots of time to worry and over think it. Any... more

Overall extremely satisfied. I am fairly new to Kaiser, within a year and a half as a member, and although I was advised it was a lengthy process to qualify, I went for the breast reduction class (required before consult with plastic surgeon) and was scheduled for mid July. When I had called to see about changing a post op appointment I was offered a sooner surgery date. I took it as it fit my... more

I feel for the girls that need a breast augmentation because they feel their breasts are too small. But us big girls have problems too! I "developed early" and have had chronic back problems because of the weight on my front side. (At least, that was part of it, according to my chiropractor, and why my insurance helped out.) I decided to have my full DD reduced to a small C, and they fit me... more
I waited to have a reduction simply because I was scared. When I finally got so tired of having dents in my shoulders, sweat under my breasts when I work out and a cleavage in my neck, I made the decision to have it done. I dont remember a lot of pain other than not sleeping at night for a few nights. The results were amazing and I couldn't be happier. more
Hello! So I stumbled upon this forum while on my adventure to breast reduction. I'm 23 and for a long time I've really hated how large my breasts are. My measurements are currently 40-28-35, 5'7.5 and 150 pounds. I've suffered from random headaches, back pain, neck pain and shoulder pain. Heck, sometimes I get so tired carrying these things around that I just rest them on the table when I'm... more
I got my breast reduction done by Dr Louis Mandris and he did such a terrible job on steaches that i have scar tissue bumps all over. I cant even touch my breast and one of them is so much lower then the other one. I was told by other places that once all the scar tissues are removed I will have almost nothing left and have to get augmentation done. Use someone else for your breast reduction.... more
