What Are My Options For Fat Transfer Removal From Face? (photo)

I had fat transfer under my eyes/top of cheeks 2 years ago with terrible results. The area is uneven& lumpy, with hard little beads underneath. There are zillions of plastic surgeons in Atlanta. I thought the one I went to was skilled, but he ruined my face. I met w/ a top ps here. He thought the area looked "freaky" but would only recommend filler on the outer side to even things up. How do I find a ps w/ fat trans experience? What are the best options that won't make it worse?

A: Fat transfer to lower eyelids and cheeks While fat transfer is a highly effective procedure done in the proper locations this not an ideal area for fat transfer. I have seen several patients come through my office from other surgeons with this done and my honest opinion is do not add other fillers to off set the appearance this will only exasperate your condition. See a reputable surgeon in your area and you will need to have the fat removed via blepharoplasty. I have performed several operations similar to yours to remove fat both placed and injected in this area and they have been successful so please know that in the proper hands this should be able to be improved.

Can I Inject Fat into my Hips to Even out my Body For an Hourglass Shape?

I have a 29" waist and love handles that are 38" at the fullest part. When the love handle curve ends, the line goes in and then goes out for 42.5" hips. It looks like a triple curve on my body. 1) Is there a way I can just get fat injected into the line that goes back in so that way the love handle curve extends into my hips, making it look like an hourglass shape? 2) Does the fat need to be injected just at the sides or around the whole body? What is the procedure called, if it does exist?

A: fat transfer for hip and waist contouring

Yes you can have fat injected into the lateral (side) portion of your hips to improve the contour. This is done quite commonly during a Brazilian buttock augmentation. The waist line and love handles also need to be contoured as well. I can give you a better answer if you include photos in your post. Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination.

Best wishes,

Why is Fat Transfer a Low Rated Procedure on RealSelf?

Fat transfer or grafting has slid into one of the lowest rated plastic surgery procedures on RealSelf. Under 40% of consumers say fat transfer was "Worth it". Why is this the case?  Is there something wrong with the procedure, patient selection, doctor technique?

A: Fat transfer Being one of the first surgeons in the United States doing liposuction has allowed me to be performing fat transfer procedures for many years before its popularity began. I find that patients have a very high level of satisfaction with their results. It may be the difference in surgeons or technique. I take the fat out with a small needle aspirated syringe and then spin the fat in special tubes in a centrifuge to separate it from the other fluids and then use this pure fat for injection. A portion of these fat cells take well and is very popular for adding volume in the face in facelift patients and buttocks procedures. I personally do not use fat transfer for breast augmentation and these may be some of the patients adding to discontent percentages. Best regards!
