I Had the Endotine Mid Face Lift 6 Weeks Ago and my Left Cheek is Still Very Swollen, What Should I Do? (photo)

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your replies. I had the endotine mid face/cheek lift 6 weeks ago. The swelling on my right cheek went down pretty quickly but my left cheek is still very swollen and feels tight. It looks like I have a golf ball on my cheek. Can this happen? is this normal and can anyone recommend anything that will help? I want it gone because the right side looks great.I saw my surgeon at 4 weeks pop and he recommended lymphatic drainage but not seen any change.I'm 32.

A: Endotine mid facelift and post operative swelling It is very difficult with these photographs as I am unable to see the entire face and the asymmetry and swelling difference. I would see your surgeon and discuss your concerns. There is a possibility that you have a slight reaction to the endotine suture on the one side and may have some fluid build up "seroma" or you may have some blood build up or "hematoma" adding to the increased volume. Make sure you do not have a temperature, sleep elevated, keep your salt content down and make an appointment to discuss your concerns right away with your surgeon. Best regards!

Why Can't I Have Neck or Facelift as a Smoker?

I've had both upper and lower eye lid surgery, arm reduction and a tummy tuck. I am a smoker and am 51 years old. I've healed fine in all cases. Why can't I have a neck or facelift?

A: Facelift/smoker

Having any surgery and continuing to smoke is a bad idea.  The healing process is compromised due to constricting the blood vessels and blood supply.  The healing time will be much longer.

I Would Like to Know the Risks and Possible Side Effects of Having Facetite.

I am considering having facetite. I would like to know if it is safe and what the risks and possible side effects are.

A: Facetite Without a photograph it is hard to evaluate you and see if you are a candidate for the facetite procedure. I would go to a well recommended Board Certified surgeon who practices in an accredited surgical center. Accredited facilities set the standard of care for outpatient surgery facilities. Facetite is a non surgical procedure being touted for tightening of the skin. While this may be helpful to some people depending on the aging process they may see some slight results, so this also depends on what the patients expectations and needs are. If you have a lot of laxity in the skin and some ptosis in the jowl and neck area then you probably need a facelift and there is no alternative method for this procedure. Facelift surgery when done in the skilled hands of an expert surgeon is a wonderful procedure for turning back time!
