What preparatory measures like weight loss, exercise or adjusting medication dosage will maximize the probability of a successful body lift? What medications can slow down the process of healing? Are their things that can be done before and after a body lift for the most effective healing?
There are many different steps in preparing for a body lift procedure. First is consult a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in body contouring procedures. Second is to make sure you understand your surgeon’s procedural plan. Third would be to understand all the risks and complications of your procedure. Fourth would be to have a history and physical and labs drawn by your primary care physician in order to ensure your body can endure your planned procedure(s). Next is to get on a nutritional supplement plan provided by your surgeon. Last but not least would be to make sure you have proper caretaking prepared for when you get out of surgery. There are so many other suggestions I could make for you, but it all depends on what procedures will be a part of your body lift.

For those who have lost over 150 pounds, should an overall body contouring plan be considered to just a body lift? Are there certain procedures that are more effective and more affordable than a body lift after massive weight loss?
Congratulations on your weight loss journey. As you may have experienced, losing 150 plus pounds will lead to having excess skin on your body. This is very uncomfortable for many patients and can even lead to rashes and infections in certain areas.
Body contouring essentially is a component of a body lift. The body lift is designed specifically for the weight loss patient, so I do believe having just a few procedures may not leave you with a desirable result. I have seen some patients who do a few procedures at a time and wait to do the other procedures when they have a budget for it.
I advise you to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in body contouring procedures. Best of luck to you.

I am a 27 year old mother of 3. I'm 5'5" and 133 lbs. Have been planning my mommy makeover for a while now and have even had a couple of consults. I am having a breast lift and implants. I was also planning a tummy tuck and it was suggested to consider a medial thigh lift as this area drives me crazy. I don't have much fat on my body, just lots of stretch marks and some saggy skin. I am not at all excited about the scars in my groin, because I've heard that they always migrate down and show, so bathing suites would be an issue. I was looking at the pics of body lifts and wondering if this would be a better option? How well does the inner thigh area get lifted? Wouldn't mind a little boost in the booty anyway... I don't mind the scar from the body lift that goes all the way around, but I don't want to do this if the thigh results aren't substantial... Any suggestions?
A circumferential abdominoplasty (i.e. lower bodylift or belt lipectomy) is an excellent operation that is designed to address the laxity of the torso. The tightening effect will translate to the outer thigh somewhat, but there will be no effect on the inner thighs. You will need an inner thighlift.
