I'm surprised by the amount of contour given already. This is just 24 hours post opp, so I expect the skin to have a "pinched" look from the compression garmet. The reason I put "not sure" is because it's so early on to see what the final results will be. Wanted to start here though. I'm not in pain, just a little achy. Wearing the compression garmet is probably the hardest part. I'm being... more
Good with the eyes but be careful. When I initially went in about my eyes, Dr. Barnett quickly focused on my chin and did something different there - took out way too much fat and now I look 30 years older from the chin down - real bad turkey neck. I see it every time I look in the mirror - makes me VERY self conscious. Be careful to tell Dr. Barnett the day before the procedure if you do... more
I am 48 yrs.old in excellent health and not over weight. On 9/30/ 2013 I had a neck lift. My concern right now is that it is now almost 3 months post -op and my neck is still not smooth where the incision was made for liposuction. The area under my chin is lumpy, bumpy and a bit wrinkled looking. Would this still be normal at this time of recovery? Can I expect this to smooth out in time... more
Im 44 year old mom of 2 young children and had a mini lift/neck lift and lower bleph w/ Dr Lay and it was done under local. I had minimal bruising and it's healing very well so far. I'm 5 days post and it's looking better everyday. The procedure itself was comfortable and I was given something for anxiety and pain relief prior. Dr lay also explained everything he was doing while he was doing... more
I had a neck lift 5 days ago and am thrilled with my results already, even though I'm still fairly swollen and bruised. I have felt no pain thus far in recovery, and have only taken Tylenol 4 times (had no need to take prescribed Vicodin). My neck has felt tight and sore, but nothing significant. The numbness around my ears is the most bothersome feeling, and I assume feeling will come back... more
Unfortunately, I have always had a double chin due to genetics. I could be 110 lbs and the pesky waddle was still there. When I turned 40 I thought it was time for my neck to match my face. I am now one month post surgery and I feel fantastic! The reactions I have received have been exactly what I had hoped for, many friends asked how I lost so much weight and others have said I look... more
I am 58 and decided to have a neck lift. I am really happy with the result and glad I made the decision. But I urge you to pay attention to the following advice. I failed, not purposely, to set myself up for success by not taking a number of simple issues into consideration. I have hypertension which has been very well controlled for 15 years. Unbeknownst to me until the neck lift catastrophes... more
