i had restylane injection 1 week ago in nasolabial folds .now i have uneven and swollen but very little in one down side of nose!!
Thank you for your question.
First and foremost, any time you have a concern about a recent procedure you should let your provider know. In our San Francisco Bay Area practice we advise all patients to wait at least two weeks after injection to allow adequate time for swelling to subside. Generally minor asymmetries subside on their own as swelling resolves but in some cases additional filler may be required.
For the highest level of experience and care visit the office of a board certified plastic surgeon.
I hope this helps.
How long after a Rhinoplasty should I wait to inject Restylane for undereye I just underwent Rhinoplasty surgery 1-week ago and wanted to use Restylane to fill the wrinkles and dark eye hollows underneath the eyes (lower eyelids) - near the tear ducts and middle of lower eyelids.
I have had these for the last 5 years and have been wanting to fix this issue. Will this interfere with the healing process for my rhinoplasty?
Best to wait a month to six weeks so the swelling and bruising can go down.
Could be longer if you had your nose narrowed during the surgery (osteotomies or infracturing).
Ask your doctor!
Does everyone get bruises after Restylane? If so, how long does the bruises and swelling last? I will be going on a trip four days after getting my Restylane. Is it safe? Thanks
Thanks for your question.
In our San Francisco area practice, we find bruising to be very unusual after any injectable.
Guidelines to follow include:
- Avoiding blood thinning medications prior to treatment (eg aspirin)
- Go to an experienced injector
- There are treatments (such as cool compresses) that can reduce the chance of bruising even further. Your injector should be able to help you with these.
I hope this helps.
